About

Ross Machine Shop is a locally owned business that opened its doors on October 15, 1983. We deemed our slogan “Where Quality Counts” shortly after that. The name Ross Machine Shop was chosen because of its location in Ross Industrial Park. The business started with one bay at 1123 Weaver Street, Regina, SK. The bay was 2000 square feet and we had two lathes, a milling machine and a couple other miscellaneous machines.

After five years of business we were able to start expanding and bought a second bay. By our tenth year of business we had grown to a total of seven employees. After 21 years Ross Machine Shop had a total of six bays on Weaver Street and about 35 employees. We were running out of space, electricity and parking! We started searching for a new building and purchased our current location at 40 Kress Street, Regina, SK in 2004. The new building gave us 30,000 square feet of space which allowed us to move our partner company, Armour Steel Fabricators, under the same roof. Armour Steel Fabricators compliments Ross Machine Shop by offering variety of welding and fabricating services. In 2019 we were bursting at the seams and needed more space, more overhead lifting capacity and bigger machines. We built a 13,050 square foot building on the back of our property, added 40 tonnes of overhead lifting capacity, and a 7-axis milling machine with 48” x 78” x 348” of travel. We have expanded our equipment and size capacity to accommodate more types of work. In 2023 we celebrated 40 years in business, and added two new CNC lathes and a wire EDM machine!

Ross Machine Shop consistently has at least 50 employees and believes in providing a safe work environment. The Safety Association of Saskatchewan Manufacturers (SASM) has awarded Ross Machine Shop a Silver Level CoR (Certificate of Recognition) for our health and safety program. This means that in addition to complying with Saskatchewan OH & S legislation and applicable standards, Ross Machine Shop also applies industry best practices. We have also received a Certificate of Achievement from WCB.

We believe the success of our company is directly related to the commitment of our team of management, machinists, millwrights & support staff to provide our customers with quality services and quality products!
